About Me
Laura Pintus LAPIS is an Abstract-Expressionist Pop-Street Artist, Mailartist,Visual Poetry and Artists' Book Artist.
Self-taught Artist, she loved drawing since she was a child. She spontaneously picked up brushes and colors and began drawing on paper and soon painting on canvas. Inspired by Picasso and American Abstract Expressionism, mainly by the artist W.De Kooning. Her trip to New York was decisive in contaminating her artistic approach with elements of Pop Art and Street Art. Since 2022 she has started artistic correspondence in Mail Art, she founded the international group called Mail Art Sardegna, she has become an international promoter with both physical and virtual exhibitions.
She has exhibited in Europe and abroad, including at the Rochester Art Center in the USA, at the Officina Creativa in Naples, at the MAM Montecarotto, at The New York Boyer Foundation NY USA, with the Gruppo Voltine Isola d Elba, at the Talent Art Roma, at the Boise State University Student Union Building Fine Art Gallery Boise United States, at the Georgetown University, at the VisioniAltre gallery in Venice, in the Mail Art Poetry International Sperimental Poetry Argentina 2024, at virtual exhibitions such as the III International Virtual Exhibition World Art Day Contemporary Art and the III International Music and Fine Art Education Symposium Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Education, Turkey.
She received the Fluxus Form 2022 recognition and the Luxemburg Art Prize 2022 certificate of Artistic merit.
She curated her solo show "Acts of colours" in 2022, and numerous International Mail Art exhibitions as well as organizing exhibition days for AMACI Italia.
Her works are the expression of her spontaneity, her instinct and her reflection on the contemporary world. Both with abstract language and with references to Pop and Street Art, the Artist questions himself and invites us to reflect on what happiness is and whether there is a way to achieve it. Using symbolic representations of contemporary culture such as cartoons, she wants to reflect on the status symbols of society, on consumerism and on the material goods on which it is based.
